Oil Coolers
This Single-Pass Oil Cooler can be mounted horizontally, vertically, as well as parallel to the ground (provided that the oil cooler has proper air-flow). The CSF #8202 Oil Cooler has custom end tanks with a 45? front angle, allowing it to fit flush inside ?73-style RSR bumpers. The fittings are pointed straight back. For best airflow and highest performance, CSF recommends cutting the front tub to allow for proper air flow, exiting behind the oil cooler and underneath the vehicle. Cutting the front tub will also give clearance to allow adding a rear fan shroud to pull more air through the cooler at slower speeds or while idling. In universal applications these oil coolers are commonly utilized for engine oil, transmission oil, power-steering fluid, and differential fluid, plus can be used as a water heat exchanger.The unique design of CSF?s oil cooler line has distinct advantages over conventional style oil coolers (plate-type/stacked oil coolers). The oil coolers can be placed in tighter spaces or different areas of the vehicle that don?t have much vertical surface area. Longer rectangular sizes can also help with avoiding the stacking of too many coolers which may cause airflow issues to other components in the cooling system. Inlet/outlet port placement is much easier to route oil lines. Typical oil cooler lines have to be routed from different/opposite ends of the cooler often facing up or down. Usually one line has to run across from one side of the cooler to the other to then be routed together to the feed/return connection of the oil system. The CSF oil coolers are much more robust, durable, and can withstand a higher peak burst rate. This allows the cooler to be mounted in areas that might get high debris (front fascia, diff cooler, side vents, etc?). The CSF oil cooler is designed to withstand a tremendous amount of vibration and debris.
CSF fluid coolers are part of a broad range that includes several designed, developed, and track proven in collaboration with BMW tuning specialists and parts manufacturers.
Available coolers include:
* Dual-pass, race-spec, DCT transmission coolers--a number are plug-and-play and include oil-line connections, mounting brackets, shrouds, and ducting
* All-aluminum, controlled atmosphere brazed (CAB) dual-pass, plug-and-play, power steering coolers
* Dual-pass, all-aluminum, race-spec engine oil coolers with cast end-tanks
* Advanced and unique, dual-fluid, heavy-duty oil coolers with built-in fittings and included SPAL fan and sealed shroud.
Additional features and benefits of CSF fluid coolers include:
* Drop-in fit coolers require no modifications to install; They fit OE bumpers and accept factory oil-line connections, mounting brackets, shrouds, and ducts … even aftermarket splitters
* Many feature dual-pass, high-performance cores that replace OEM single-pass designs for maximum surface area and flow
* OE low-efficiency, mechanically bonded cores replaced with CAB-brazed, high-efficiency, turbulated, heavy-duty, bar and plate design cores for the most reliable and durable coolers available (on specific applications)
* High-density, multi-louvered fin design with more surface area than OE units
* Where applicable, fully TIG-welded end-tanks vs. OE mechanically jointed and tack-welded tanks for superior reliability and durability
* Select applications include CSF's A/C condenser technology using super-high pressure, multi-channel micro-tubes
* Lab tested to be more efficient than OEM coolers
